Bristol Virginia’s money situation is in fiscal distress. That’s the word from State Auditors who have identified several cities across the Commonwealth who are struggling with financial matters…including Bristol Virginia. State Auditors are concerned about the amount of debt owed on the Falls Commercial Development site as well as financial issues associated with the city’s landfill that is losing millions of dollars a year. The auditors are helping Bristol develop a fiscal management plan with the assistance of special financial consultants. The city owes nearly 50 million dollars on the Falls Development site along with another thirty million at the city’s landfill operation.
