Hawkins Man Crashes…Receives Eighth DUI Charge

A Hawkins County man is now charged with numerous offenses, including DUI eighth offense after he crashes his pickup truck last week, sending him and his passenger to the hospital. 51 year old Phillip Brian Manis of Surgoinsville was arrested after the single vehicle crash on Route 70 N in Rogersville. Manis, and his passenger, 61 year old George Atkins received incapacitating injuries when Manis lost control of his pickup and left the roadway several times before slamming into a tree. Manis is scheduled to appear in court on April 9.
