Tennessee Governor Signs Bill To Remove Funding From State Supported Elective Abortions

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has signed a bill that will remove TENNCARE funding to any clinic that performs 50 or more elective abortions a year. The Bill says its against Tennessee policy to use state funds to promote or support elective abortions. The bill calls for the state to get a Federal waiver to exclude any TENNCARE reimbursements, if the funds could directly or indirectly promote elective abortions in the state.
