Eastman Says It’s Improving Communications After October’s Explosion

Last week a state environmental agency announced Kingsport’s Eastman Chemical Company was not at fault for last October’s explosion that rocked the Eastman campus and surrounding neighborhoods…but now, Eastman…on its own accord says the huge chemical manufacturer could have done a better job of getting information out to the pubic and its employees after the explosion occurred. The company says its made very specific changes to its communications to make sure the problem doenst occure again. The cause of the explosion was blamed on a thirty year old malfunctioning valve.
