Kingsport School Board Holds Public Hearing To Discuss Possible Drug Testing Of Some Students
A public hearing was held Tuesday at the Kingsport School Board meeting to discuss the school board’s consideration of a policy to allow some random drug testing of students who voluntarily participate in extra-curricular activities in grades nine through twelve. Director of Schools, Dr. Jeff Moorehouse says his past experience leads him personally to be in favor of such testing. The board is expected to define what activities would be included and what drugs would be tested for as the conversation on the topic continues.
