Man Injured In Trooper Chase…Slips Away From Hospital Before Warrants Served

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is searching for a suspect who lead police on a chase in Hawkins County before crashing his car and injuring himself and two other passengers. Troopers say 19 year old Daniel Skeens of Kingsport is now facing two dozen charges including vehicular assault, and drug and weapons offenses. Skeens was clocked at one hundred miles per hour before he crashed on Carters Valley Road, flipping his vehicle. Officers also witnessed Skeens tossing a handgun out the window of the vehicle which was stolen out of Elizabethon…The gun was later recovered as the search continues.
