Saltville crash leaves 1 dead, 2 seriously injured and another in state police custody

A traffic crash in Saltville, Virginia early Monday morning left one person dead an two others severely injured. The fourth person involved is in state police custody.

Saltville Police received a call of a crash around 2:30a.m.. A vehicle had run off the road and into a creek on the 500 block of Allison Gap road. When law enforcement arrived, they discovered the crash was in relation to a domestic situation and shooting earlier.

67-year old Katherine Hogston died at the scene. Her body has been sent off for autopsy in Roanoke.

A 46-year old Saltville man was transported to Bristol Regional Medical Center for serious injuries

A 30-year old woman is being treated at Holston Valley Medical for her crash-related injuries.

A 31-year old Saltville man is in state police custody with charges pending. This investigation is ongoing. We will keep you updated as we learn more.
