Johnson City and Kingsport fireworks cause trouble on the Fourth
Many cities in our region put on exciting firework shows for the Fourth of July…but some caused a little trouble.
In Johnson City, a representative from Freedom Hall confirms that a rack of fireworks blew up causing them to shoot sideways, rather than up in the air. There were no injuries reported, and the show continued as normal. There is currently an investigation underway.
And in Kingsport, the Fire Department was called to a small brush fire around 10pm on Cement Hill. Debris from fireworks are said to have started the fire. Crews were able to quickly contain the fire with the help of the Sullivan West Volunteer Fire Department. No injuries reported in that firework incident as well.
