Non Profit Group Seeks 500 Thousand Dollar Grant For Mendota Trailhead In Bristol
Those of you who hike the Mendota Trail in Southwest Virginia and potential hikers will be interested to know a Virginia non profit group is planning to build a 500 thousand dollar trailhead and parking lot in Bristol to meet hiker demand. Bristol, Virginia City Council recently gave its approval to support the group by having city engineers design the layout. Mountain Heritage is seeking a 500 thousand dollar grant to complete the trailhead, linking the trail that winds mostly through Washington County Virginia.
