Cantech Industries in Johnson City to Close Next Year

In what a company spokesperson called a “business decision” Cantech Industries will close it’s facility next year.

The tape manufacturer notified it’s employees this week of the pending closure. Details of a program that will be put in place for those losing their jobs have not been released as of yet.

Cantech employs 69 people at the the facility in an east Johnson City industrial park. The plant originally opened in 1983, making carton sealing tapes.
