Greene County Commissioners Consider Tax Hike To Fund School Resource Officers

The Greene County Board of Commissioners have a decision to make…Do they want to increase property taxes by ten cents to help fund school resource officers? The plan would fund 13 SRO’s and two supervisors. Four officers are currently stationed at Greene County School. The additional revenue would place one officer at each of the county’s schools. Commissioners are concerned about the sheriff’s departments response time to some of the schools, due to the size of Greene County.
