Despite Vote To Award Sullivan School Construction, One Board Member Has Doubts About School Site
At least one Sullivan County School Board Member still has concerns about the land where a new 54 million dollar consolidated high school is planned to be built on. Mark Ireson, was one of two no votes against awarding the contract says there are anomalies on the land at Lynn Road where the school will be built. Ireson says a land expert believes the property should be re-evaluated. Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Evelyn Rafalowski told the board a tech firm already on board has been monitoring both the proposed middle school and high school sites and have found no issues of concern. The school will be built near the Tri Cities Airport and will house Sullivan North, South, and Central high school students.
