Kingsport Man Arraigned For Brutally Beating Live-In Girlfriend To Death

A Kingsport man has been arraigned and remains behind bars after he allegedly beat his live-in girlfriend to death with an oxygen tank. 67 year old Sammy R. Sandidge is charged with the first degree murder of the so far unidentified woman…pending an autopsy report. According to court records, Sandidge, said he struck the woman in the head with the tank several times before she died,following an argument. Sandidge also stated he stayed in the Maple Oaks Apartment where the murder occurred for three days before leaving to stay at a friends house where he was arrested by Kingsport Police.
