Escaped Inmate Captured In Kingsport Facing Additional Charges

An inmate from Kentucky who escaped in Kingsport while being transported to another facility in Florida is now facing additional charges of assault of a police officer and resisting arrest. Rodolfo Vazquez walked away from a rest stop when the convoy transporting prisoners stopped at a Kingsport rest area. Vazquez’s escape sparked a lock down at two Sullivan County schools. Vazquez resisted arrest when police converge on him while hiding in an abandoned trailer. Vazquez is also charged with escape in Sullivan County.
