Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Looking Into Death of Man with Multi-million Dollar Lawsuit Against Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of a man who was at the center of a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.
71-year-old Herman Rumley was found dead inside of his home on Woods Road in Bluff City. Court Documents show that Rumley had a $4.8 million lawsuit filed against Sheriff Wayne Anderson and three deputies.
The lawsuit alledges that deputies reportedly slammed Rumley to the ground and kicked him repeatedly during a prior visit.
The case remains under investigation and it’s unclear what will happen with the lawsuit.
