Kingsport Still Has Plans To Build Outdoor Music Venue

The City of Kingsport still has plans to construct an outdoor music and recreation venue on an abandoned industrial site, despite scaling back the original plans. The Model City plans to build the venue across from Brickyard Park on the old General Shale property behind the old train station. The venue would include space for concerts, festivals and special events. The original plan called for a permanent stage and restrooms, but those plans have been put on hold for the time being. The first phase of the project will include building a road from Main Street to the venue site.
