Bays Mountain Votes to Increase Annual Membership Fees

A popular Kingsport park is set to increase annual membership fees.

The decision to increase fees for Bays Mountain was made in August by the Bays Mountain Park Association Board.

Park Manager Rob Cole explains what went in to the decision.

“We’re seeing the cost of doing business increase, while our revenues are not increasing to help meet that demand and offset the cost of doing business if you will. Due to the lack of increase in fees during recent years, it became increasingly more difficult.”

Cole says the decision was not easy to make, but the park’s goal is to continue to be affordable for members who will see the increase in their membership.

The park is not increasing daily fees for visitors, but only increasing annual fees for members, expected to take effect January 1st of the new year.
