Individuals In Virginia Now Have More Access To Family Planning Options
Individuals in Virginia now have more access to family planning options. Up to six million dollars will be awarded to qualified health care providers to disperse long acting reversible contraceptives to patients through 2020. The program is designed to decrease the number of unintended pregnancies and improve birth outcomes. Twelve health care providers across the Commonwealth will provide the contraceptives. In 2015 an estimated 49 percent of Virginia women reported their pregnancy was unintended.
