Elderly Unicoi County Woman Carjacked, Robbed At Knifepoint

An elderly woman has been carjacked and robbed at knifepoint in Unicoi County over the weekend. Sheriff Mike Hensley says two men carjacked the woman Saturday afternoon on Unicoi Drive at the intersection of Highway 173. One of the men jumped in front of the woman’s vehicle. When she stopped another man jumped in the woman’s car and threatened her with a knife. The two men made the woman drive away and then took a wallet and jumped out of the vehicle. The victim described the suspects as Hispanic with dark hair, one may have had a pony tail, and both were wearing blue jeans.
