Methamphetamine, Now Drug Of Choice In Southwest Virginia
Methamphetamine has replaced Heroin as the drug of choice in southwest Virginia. According to a report in the Roanoke Times, police seizures in southwest Virginia are on the rise. While, fatal overdoses from meth are rare, they too are increasing in numbers. Experts are warning of a growing threat of stimulant drug abuse, whether its meth or prescription drugs like Adderall. Methamphetamine is second only to Marijuana in the region. Officials blame the increase in meth on cheap crystal meth being imported from Mexico.
