New Fingerprinting Technology In Use At Sullivan County Jail
It’s a system that uses one of the oldest forms of identification in law enforcement…fingerprinting. And the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department is putting a technological twist on fingerprinting that hopefully will prohibit the accidental release of a wrong inmate, which recently happened at the facility. A new kiosk allows jailers to take in funds from the inmate, collect a fingerprint sample, and displays the inmates information. Once the inmate is ready to be released by authorities they will go through the fingerprint Kiosk and the inmates ID is verified one more time, ensuring the correct inmate is about to be released.
