Increased Patrols On Area School Campuses After Soft Lockdown Wednesday
Increased patrols will be conducted Thursday on school campuses after Sullivan, Washington and Carter County schools, along with Johnson City City schools, and Elizabethton city schools went in a soft lockdown on Wednesday after threats were made on social media outlets. Investigators believe the threats may have come from a mobile device near Bluff City. Sullivan County went to the soft lockdown after being notified by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department. Johnson City Schools were placed on the lockdown out of an abundance of caution. A soft lockdown means classes continue, but students are not allowed out of the classrooms while authorities and investigators secure the campuses.
