Kingsport Man Leads Police On Multi Jurisdictional, High Speed Chase
The name of the person who led multiple law enforcement agencies on a high speed chase, that resulted in a Kingpsort Police officer crashing his cruiser during the event has been released. 21 year old Jonathan D. Casey of Kingsport led authorities on a serpentine pursuit that started on West Stone Drive, when police noticed a suspicious vehicle. The chase progressed into Scott County, Virginia, then back into Tennessee on Rock Springs Road where the officer crashed his vehicle into a utility pole. The pursuit finally ended in Bristol when Casey turned into a field and got stuck near West State Street. Casey is charged with numerous offenses including aggravated assault and felony reckless endangerment. The police officer was not injured in the crash but the cruiser received heavy damage.
