VSP Investigating Fatal Scott County Crash

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal Scott County crash that has claimed the life of a so far unnamed female. Police say a Toyota Corolla traveling south on Route 23 attempted to make a left turn at the intersection of Route 871 and pulled into the path of a southbound Chevy Pickup. The pickup was unable to avoid the Toyota and struck it in the side. A female passenger in the Toyota died at the scene. The adult male driver was treated for serious but non life threatening injuries. Neither was wearing a seatbelt. A 35 year old female driver of the pickup truck was treated for minor injuries.
