Ballad Health Calls Off Informational Meeting…Commissioners Were Doubtful To Attend

And now there’s not a meeting…after some Sullivan County Commissioners said they would not attend an informational meeting with Ballad Health Officials, the health care provider has cancelled the meeting. Ballad is announcing plans to downgrade two of its level one trauma care centers, which has gotten the attention of many in the region, including Sullivan County commissioners. And in response, those commissioners approved a resolution denouncing Ballad’s plans and some indicated they would not attend the meeting in fear of violating the state’s sunshine law. Ballad says despite cancelling the meeting, the health care provider will still avail itself to those who want to understand the facts of Ballad’s plans.
