Bear Collides With Car…Kills Bear And Totals Vehicle…Two slightly Injured

Wise County Sheriff’s officials are reporting two people received minor injuries last week after the car they were riding in collided with a huge bear. The accident happened on Route 23 near Hoot Owl Hollow near Norton , Virginia when a black bear estimated at more than 700 pounds cam out of nowhere and collided with an SUV. The bear died at the scene and the car was a total loss estimated at 12 thousand dollars. Virginia Game Officials say the bear weighed 792 pounds and officials are checking to see if that is a record for the largest bear found in Virginia.
