Kingsport Man Charged With Animal Cruelty

A Kingsport man has been charged with animal cruelty after allegedly leaving his dog alone for up to a week. 47 year old George T.Pierce was served with a citation for animal cruelty after police discovered the dog living at Pierce’s Flanders Street home and had been left alone for long periods of time.Police observed the dog in the early stages of emaciation with the dogs ribs showing and a sunken stomach. The dog is being treated at a local vet hospital. Pierce has until January 24 to report to the city jail for processing on his citation.
