Man Exposes Self and Assaults Man on Church Property

One man’s lewd and violent behavior has landed him in jail.

53-year-old David Allen Napier is facing assault, public Indeceny and other charges after he allegedly exposed his genitals and mooned traffic whIle standing across the street from Riverview Baptist Church in Carter county.

His actions were reportedly aimed at two men at the church. He’d go on to approach one of the men in a threatening manor. He was told to leave the property at which time he kicked the man in the stomach and slapped him in the face.

Witnesses told police that Napier frequently harrases church members by making death threats. When deputies confronted Napier he began screaming at them while holding a hot cup of coffee. He refused commands to put it down and threw it on one of the officers and then threw the cup at the other.

A struggle insued as officers went to arrest him. Napier kicked one of the officers and clawed the other with his fingernails during the struggle.
He was finally taken into custody and is being held in the Carter County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
