Marion Man Arrested In Hit And Run Fatal

A Marion Virginia man has been arrested in connection with Sunday’s hit and run crash in Smyth County that took the life of an 87 year old Chilhowie woman. 31 year old Joseph H. Kestner is charged with fatal hit and run, failure to report a crash and involuntary manslaughter. Kestner was driving a 1993 Honda Accord when it ran off Riverside Road and then crashed into the home of 87 year old Margaret Poe, resulting in her death. Kestner then left the seen, he was arrested on Wednesday and is being held in the Southwest Virginia Jail in Abingdon.
