Landslide on Raytheon Road in Bristol Causes Major Accident Involving Bristol, TN Police Cruiser
A Wednesday morning accident involving a landslide on Raytheon Road which caused a vehicle to become airborne and hit a police cruiser has sent an officer to the hospital.
According to the Bristol Tennessee Police Department, they received a call of rocks in the road away just after 6:00 A.M Wednesday morning. A police cruiser traveled to the scene and activated his hazard lights to warn drivers of rocks in the road way. An oncoming vehicle hit the rocks and crashed into the police vehicle.
Both the cruiser and vehicle sustained major damage in the accident. The officer was taken to the ER for treatment of minor injuries and the other driver refused medical transportation. Bristol Police say Raytheon Road will be closed to thru traffic for a few days to clear the rock slide until it is deemed safe.
