Plans Moving Forward With Proposed Virginia Business College

A vote is expected Tuesday by the full commission of Virginia’s Council of Higher Education that could lead to the establishment of a new business college on the former campus of Virginia Intermont College. The Academic Affairs Committee voted in favor Monday to grant provisional approval for starting the business college. The Virginia Business College plans to use part of the 13 acre Bristol campus which has been vacant since the school closed in 2014 due to financial and accreditation problems.
