Controversial School Voucher Plan Passes Key Vote
Governor Bill Lee’s controversial school voucher plan passes a key vote as the Tennessee House Education Committee gives its approval. Lee’s estimated 125 million dollar deal, called Educational Savings Accounts would give up to 15 thousand students in low performing school districts across the state an estimated 73 hundred dollars of state money each year to attend school, usually private ones of their choice. The bill still faces an uphill battle before it makes its way to a full house vote.
