Three Month Road Construction Project Gets Underway In Johnson City

A road construction project to alleviate congestion on an already high traffic road begins today at the intersection of Peoples Street and Greenline Road. The three month reconstruction project will have road crews working weekdays seven a.m to three pm. The project will convert a four way stop to a lighted intersection and will increase the number of turn lanes for the highly traveled Peoples Street intersection. Traffic controls will be in place to accommodate lane closures throughout the period of construction, but some delays should be expected in the area. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes if possible.
