Legislature Moves Forward Daylight Savings Time Bill
A bill that would turn out the lights on daylight savings time is headed to Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s desk. Senate members advanced the proposal on Tuesday. The bill would scrap the twice annual time change, but only if Congress passes federal law allowing states to observe daylight savings time year around. Daylight savings time begins on the second Sunday of March, when clocks move ahead one hour to allow for more daylight in the evening and less in the morning. Clocks then move back one hour on the first Sunday in November.
