Pair of Carter County Men Behind Bars For Allegedly Stealing Over $100,000 in Property
Two Carter County men are behind bars after police say investigators found more than $100,000 worth of stolen property.
Jackie Lee White, 39, and Richard Lynn Johnson, 31, were charged with theft over $60,000, theft over $5,000, and nine counts of burglary each after deputies received reports of suspects breaking into storage units on Bristol Highway in April. Police say one victim had over $100,000 dollars of property stolen, and another victim had property valued over $8,000 stolen.
Police are continuing to recover the stolen items at this time, and both suspects are being held in the Carter County jail. Johnson is being held on an $80,000 bond and White is being held on a $45,000 bond.
