Kingsport Board Of Education Approves 88 Million Dollar Budget, Alderman Set To Review Document

An almost 90 million dollar budget and a proposed salary increase for Kingsport School employees will be discussed during a Thursday afternoon Board of Mayor and Alderman work session. The BOE approved the 88 million dollar draft budget earlier this week. Alderman are expected to vote on that budget as well as other city budgets during Thursday’s work session. That will be followed by a first and second reading of the budget in June. The proposed spending document does include the reduction of one systemwide administrator and one systemwide support position.
