Officials With Kingsport Community Corrections Facility End State Contract

A community corrections facility in Kingsport is no longer accepting offenders after cancelling its contract with the Tennessee Department of Corrections. The John R. Hay House’s Board of Directors decided not to renew the contract with the state. Offenders will now be sent to other housing providers in the area. The John R. Hay House did receive funds from the United Way of Greater Kingpsort in 2018 and its not clear why the board decided to cancel the contract.
