Johnson City Man In Jail on Accusations He Hit and Threatened to Kill His Girlfriend
A Johnson City man is behind bars after allegedly hitting his girlfriend and holding a sword to her neck.
According to the Johnson City Police Department, they responded to a domestic disturbance late Tuesday night around 9:55, at the home of Kevin Neverette, 38, and the victim. The victim told police the two got into an argument and Neverette hit her in the face with his fist during the argument, then held a large sword to her neck and threatened to kill her. Police say the victim did not receive any injuries.
Neverette attempted to barricade himself in his home, but police obtained a warrant, then found him in the living room and placed him into custody.
Authorities have charged the man on aggravated assault. Neverette is currently held on a $5,000 bond in the Carter County Detention Center, awaiting arraignment Wednesday in Carter County General Sessions Court.
