Sullivan County Commission Meets Today to Discuss 2019-2020 Budget

The Sullivan County Commission meeting is this afternoon to present the first read of the 2019-2020 budget, and one part of that budget could include a Budget Committee recommended seven cent property tax increase.

Sullivan County’s Budget Committee voted to recommend the increase in last week’s meeting. The breakdown of the increase would be two cents for funding of SROs in all Sullivan county schools, two cents for increased staffing at the Sullivan County jail, two cents towards raises for county employees, and the final one cent for increased funding for emergency services.

The committee meets today at 4:00 P.M.
