Town Of Unicoi To Get Police Department

Unicoi County leaders have appropriated one hundred thousand dollars for a police department in the town of 35 hundred residents. The money will fund one full time and one part time officer to patrol the town. Mayor Johnny Lynch says the police department is needed enforce town ordinances and codes. So far no word as to when the department would begin patrolling the streets of Unicoi.
