Virginia State Police Now Investigating Sexual Harassment Allegations Against Southwest Virginia Coach

Sexual harassment allegations against a southwest Virginia High School football coach are now being investigated by the Virginia State Police. A third sexual harassment allegation against John I. Burton football coach Jim Adams has prompted Norton Police Chief James Lane to turn the investigation over the VSP. The latest allegation against Adams marks the third complaint filed against Adams since April of 2018.. Chief Lane says he decided to hand over the case to avoid a conflict of interest. Two Norton police officers are related to Adams’ family.
