ETSU Football Head Coach Randy Sanders to Serve as Guest Speaker at 2019 Greene County Sports Luncheon
ETSU Football Head Coach Randy Sanders is the guest speaker for this year’s Greene County Sports Council Luncheon.
Sanders was hired in December of 2017 following the retirement of Carl Torbush, who helped lead the revived ETSU football program beginning in 2014. A native of Morristown, Sanders has spent 29 years coach on the Football Bowl Subdivision level, with stints as offensive coordinator at Tennessee, Kentucky and Florida State. Sanders was the offensive coordinator for the Volunteers when they won the 1998 BCS National Championship, and he was quarterbacks coach at Florida State when the Seminoles claimed the 2013 National Championship.
“The Sports Council is excited to host Coach Randy Sanders at the 2019 annual luncheon”, stated Chad Mitchel, ticket chair and member of the Council. “It is our mission to serve as a catalyst to enhance local economic and community growth through the promotion and development of tourism and sporting events in Greeneville/Greene County, TN. The dollars raised from this luncheon fund our advertising efforts to groups such as the National Junior College Athletic Assoc. and other sports groups seeking host communities for their championships.”
