UPDATE: Amphitheater, water park at Pinnacle site in Virginia gets admissions tax approval
An admissions tax to a proposed concert amphitheater, water park and hotel complex is now in place for the Virginia side of the Pinnacle development in Washington County. County leaders approved a resolution for the 10 percent gate tax for the private capital project being constructed by developer Steve Johnson who says the $200 million plan on 250 acres can be extraordinary.
“I think it’s the right place. It’s the right time and I think it’s Washington County’s turn for a game changer,” the developer said.
Johnson estimates the tax revenue for the county would be $9 million annually.
