Washington County, VA Deputies Charge Man in Hammer Attack
Washington County, VA deputies have a charged a man in Tuesday night’s alleged hammer attack that sent two people to the hospital.
John Jefferson Tuggle, 36, has been charged with two counts of felony aggravated malicious wounding in the attack at a home on 32364 Santa Cruz Drive. Tuggle was at a home with two individuals Tuesday night, when they say Tuggle went into another room to retrieve a hammer. Tuggle then came back to the room and allegedly hit both victims in the head, then left the home to go back to to his home.
Officers took Tuggle into custody at his home a short time later. Both victims were taken to the Bristol Regional Medical Center, and are listed in stable condition. There is no information about what provoked the attack, but authorities believe alcohol and drugs could’ve played a factor. Tuggle is being held without bond in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail.
