Police accuse Georgia man of enticing Johnson City child in kidnapping case
Johnson City police have charged a Georgia man with kidnapping a child and taking them to a motel. 64-year-old James Cranfield is also facing two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. Officers were notified of a kidnapping on Princeton Road late Wednesday. The report said Cranfield did not know the child but was able to entice them to come with him to the motel and several businesses then dropping them off at their home. Investigators also found child pornography on his cell phone but the pictures did not include the Johnson City victim, police reported. Cranfield was arrested Thursday at Quality Inn on Pinnacle Drive and will be arraigned Friday in Sessions Court.
