Report: Former Unaka High teacher ran scheme from school’s livestock program
A former Unaka High School teacher has been indicted for a scheme that took money from a student-run livestock program. John-Claude Hardin is accused by the State Comptroller’s Office of pocketing more than $1,800 from the operation over a year’s time. The report said Hardin stole cash from the school’s meat processing project and then sold a steer raised by students at a livestock auction for just over $600. He is charged with one count theft over $1,000, six counts of forgery and one count of official misconduct.
