TBI: Unicoi County lawyer bilks clients out of thousands

A Unicoi County grand jury has indicted a local attorney following the results of an investigation by the TBI. William Branch Lawson, 70, is accused of stealing more than $65,000 from his clients beginning in October 2018. He turned himself in at the Unicoi County Jail on Thursday and was issued a $25,000 bond. Lawson is charged with two counts of theft.
