UPDATE: Weber City policeman under investigation resigns from force
A Southwest Virginia policeman currently under investigation by state officials has resigned his post. Weber City Town Attorney Mike Carrico confirmed that officer Nathan Alan Kennedy submitted his notice to City Council members earlier this week and they accepted his request. Kennedy is now the subject of a review by the Virginia State Police. They will determine if he used excessive force last month while arresting a juvenile in Duffield. A Scott County Sheriff’s Office report said that Kennedy slammed the teenager’s head to the ground while he was handcuffed, causing the suspect to suffer a concussion.
