Three Million Dollars Headed To Rural Workforce Development Boards
Northeast Tennessee’s distressed, at risk, and rural counties face workforce challenges that don’t exist in the state’s urban and metropolitan areas. But now, three million dollars is being invested to support improvements to those challenges. The Tennessee Workforce Development Board recently approved the money. Those funds will go to provide greater opportunities for residents to take part in skills training in high demand growth sectors. The money comes from Governor Bill Lee’s rural initiatives program. The state will be providing program guidance to local workforce development boards deemed eligible to receive the funds.
