Wise County Man Facing Up To One Hundred Years In Prison For Construction Fraud
A Wise County Virginia man facing up to a hundred years in prison for ripping off home owners for construction work he promised but never performed is scheduled for a sentencing hearing on Tuesday. James Miller, was previously convicted of construction fraud in 2010 and entered an Alford Plea in connection to five cases from 2018. Chuck Slemp is Commonwealth’s Attorney.
(:17)….For someone to steal that money by promising to fix your house and in reality no doing any work, but instead taking your money for nothing is the most highest form of fraud, the most offensive fraud I can think of.
Attorney General Slemp says the five cases from 2018 all involved jobs that Miller charged at least five hundred dollars or more for work he never performed.
